SOCIAL & LIVELIHOOD SPECIALIST

OBJECTIVE:
To enhance the socio-economic well-being of project-affected communities by designing, implementing, and monitoring sustainable livelihood strategies and social development initiatives. The Social and Livelihood Specialist aims to ensure that project interventions lead to improved living standards, economic opportunities, and social inclusion, while minimizing negative social impacts. This role focuses on empowering vulnerable populations, fostering community participation, and ensuring that social safeguards are integrated into project planning and execution to achieve long-term development goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review the Resettlement Action Plan and other TORs for States.
- Supervise the activities of Umbrella NGO at Federal and States level
- Support States in the implementation of the Resettlement Action Plan activities
- Collaborate with the GRM officers at Federal and States levels to ensure quick resolution of identified grievances.
- Coordinate States in terms of providing guidance in the implementation of Livelihood activities.
- Supervise the implementation of GBV action plan and Gender strategy/Gender Action Plan activities at the state level.
- Ensure implementation of Safeguards instruments for NEWMAP Project across the States.
- Any other responsibilities as assigned

NEWMAP-EIB is the European Investment Bank assisted Nigeria Climate Adaptation-Erosion and Watershed Project. Our Project Development Objective is reducing vulnerability to soil erosion in targeted sub-watersheds.
