KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The responsibility of technical oversight, reporting and coordination of the entire participating States, design consultants overseeing the engineering and technical aspects of the NEWMAP-EIB Project.
• Development and review of TORs covering aspects of engineering (or where necessary) in Project implementation and sustainability.
• Monitors the overall design and construction activities in all states, paying close attention to quality control, exchange of experiences and consolidated project-wide reporting.
• Supports, coordinates and facilitates State Project Management Unit (SPMU) staff Engineers.
• Consolidates the reports on the progress of work submitted by the SPMU Staff Engineers.
• Oversees and coordinates the work of the federal level quality control and engineering capacity building firm.
• Provides support to States in case of difficulties arising from design and construction activities.
• Monitors post construction maintenance works by States.
