OBJECTIVE:

To ensure the sound financial management of projects and by implementing and maintaining effective financial systems, controls, and procedures that align with organizational policies and donor requirements. The specialist aims to ensure accurate financial reporting, budget management, and compliance with relevant regulations, while providing strategic financial advice to support decision-making and optimize resource allocation.

Additionally, the role involves safeguarding assets, mitigating financial risks, and promoting transparency and accountability in all financial transactions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure that all accounting records are maintained in line with approved accounting standards and in line with the Bank’s requirements and Government’s regulations.
• Render periodic reports, (i.e. monthly/quarterly/annually) in the formats approved by the Bank.
• Draw up annual budgets and work plans together with the PIU.
• Ensure relevant books and records are maintained for each Project.
• Ensure that all accounting records are updated promptly.
• Ensure that monthly Bank Reconciliation statements are prepared for all Bank Accounts.
• Together with the PIU ensure strict adherence to installed internal control systems for all areas of project operation.
• Liaise with the internal/external auditors and follow up any audit queries/ management letters.
• Be a signatory to the Bank accounts of each project
• Engage in other duties/special assignments as directed by the Head of PFMU.
