Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project (NEWMAP) is a European Investment Bank-assisted project aimed at reducing vulnerability of Nigeria’s population to soil erosion and associated land degradation.

Funded by the European Investment Bank (EIB), this project is committed to building Sokoto State’s resilience to climate change impacts and advancing sustainable land management.

The Sokoto NEWMAP-EIB project is headed by the State Project Coordinator, Mansur Yahaya.

Vision:

•To enhance the state’s resilience to the impact of climate change.

Mission:

•To reduce vulnerability to soil erosion and promote sustainable land management practices in targeted sub-watersheds in Sokoto State.
